Ten Tips For A Bad Day
17:56So you may have received, or are waiting to receive some exam results, I got mine last Thursday as I post this, and this can definitely cause some major stress. You may not have got the results you wished for, but at the end of the day, they are letters on a piece of paper and they do not define you as a person. It's not the end of the world.
As someone who deals with anxiety, (and as a teenager with the normal stresses of life), I sometimes do have some bad days. Sometimes they come along with no specific reason, I just simply feel sensitive and generally a bit down. And that is TOTALLY OKAY. It happens, you just have to deal with it, and fight with any negative feelings by doing simple things to make you happy! So, here's 10 things that might make a bad day a little bit better, I hope at least a couple of things on this list can help you if you're having a bad day!
1.) Listen to music. Put your earphones in and listen to your favourite songs! Focus on the lyrics (preferably a happy or relatable song) rather than any negative thoughts! I recommend listening to a Happy playlist on Spotify! Acoustic songs are super relaxing and may lift your mood too - just don't choose sad songs!
2.) Have a bath. Light a candle. Grab a book or a magazine, a drink, maybe a cheeky little snack. Watch a show or YouTube video. LUSH products are a must-have for me and I highly recommend the 'Twilight' bath bomb (as shown above). No Animal-Testing, the prettiest bath water and the most lovely scents!
3.) Sit in a coffee shop and read, or do work - be productive in a relaxed environment, therefore reducing any stress of coursework deadlines with your favourite beverage and a cosy and quiet environment. Either with friends or simply alone!
4.) Get into your pyjamas and have a relaxed evening, grab your favourite snacks and catch up on any of your favourite TV/Netflix shows or YouTube videos!
6.) Colouring. Adult colouring books have been super popular recently, and there are some pretty complex designs. Colouring is so therapeutic and can really relax you, and let your mind concentrate on other things.
8.) See your friends. It's important to make time to see your favourite people. Chat about life, just ensure you spend time with the people who care about you most.
9.) As boring as it may be - tidy your room. It will keep your brain preoccupied whilst being productive and giving you a tidy space to relax in after, hopefully decreasing some stress.
