So this last week I have spent a few days in the city of Edinburgh. I had never been to Scotland until then, and after a 7-8 hour car journey, we finally arrived. We did stop off for a couple of hours in York in the middle of the 8 hour journey to stretch our legs and explore. We did a little bit of shopping and stopped for lunch at Bills (one of my favourite places to eat).
Our second full day, we very luckily had complete sunshine and 22 degree warmth, this was both Resulrs Day and my grandmothers birthday and we had planned to visit the Edinburgh Zoo as we had bought my grandma an adoption pack for her favourite animal - Koala Bears. And Edinburgh is the only home of Koalas in the UK, so that was a really special day, and we were so lucky with the weather. Despite the giant wasp that decided to attack me and get stuck in my hair - *insert flashback to me screaming and shouting and freaking out*. It was traumatic. But still a lovely day.
Another one of my favourite animals, a Dik-Dik. Honestly a super underrated animal, with an unusual name, a small head in proportion to its body. Seriously, they're so cute; Google them. Absolute cuties.
Our first full day consisted of rain, which unfortunately fell on our "sightseeing day", in which we went on a tour bus and a 2 hour boat tour. I have to see, even when it was rainy and gloomy, Edinburgh was beautiful. The architecture and the beautiful landscape was absolutely stunning and I miss the hills and the gorgeous views!
During our boat trip, we saw seals, they are actually super cute and inquisitive at the boats that go past, they look into your eyes; cute or creepy?! We also saw a baby seal which was just chilling by itself by the rocks, luckily it's family (I can only assume) were close by on some other rocks.

My favourite animals - penguins.

During our visit to Edinburgh, we stayed in an Air BnB and it was so lovely to stay so close to the city centre but be able to have our own space rather than a small hotel room!
